Metal braces used to be the standard practice for straightening crooked smiles, but today there is a new kid on the block. Invisalign’s clear “invisible” aligners are custom fit and removable, which manes you can take it off to eat and brush your teeth. Invisalign may not be right for all situations, and metal braces may be still be the right option for some.
Invisalign starts with a consultation to find out if they are right for your situation and if so, you will have a 3D digital image or impression taken of your teeth which will be used to map out your treatment plan step by step. Each step of the way, generally every week or so, you will change aligners. The aligners are to be worn 20 to 22 hours per day. How long you will wear your aligners depends on the amount of movement necessary to achieve the desired results.
